Carbing Competition Shift Knob

Bought this used shift knob from SCSG at a fraction price off brand new.
The weight is lighter than my previous one but it doesn't really matters to me.
Click here for more information on this shift knob.

Rear tyres rubbing fenders

The rear tyres are rubbing the fenders on this current set up:
Rim: R.TE37 15" X 7jj offset +35
Tyre: Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 195/55
Suspension: Suzuki Sport Circuit Stroke lower to Front 1 finger allowance & Rear 0 finger allowance
Camber: Front -2.5 Rear -2

No choice, I am poisoned by the HellaFlush culture hence I wanna slam my ride as low as I can to join the Slammed Society Japan =)

The workshop helps to grind the rear finder but I find that it can go further.
Hence I filed the fender more with the help of some friends in a MSCP near my house.

Borrow additional jack from my friend to jack the rear up
Removing the rear rims
Took around 5mins to remove both rims
You will need a big file, small file, some sandpapers and a pail of water
Serious man at work
Substitution needed
Manage to grind and file off 1/3 of it
No more rubbing of fenders YAY!! =)

We go further by drilling holes in between the honey comb grill on the rear diffuser.
This is to prevent parachute effect
Next project will be cutting my rear bumpers!!
Like the red and white swift sports shown below...(Photo grabbed off SCSG forum)
I personally know the owners. Very nice and fast ride they have.

Yokohama Advan Neova AD08

New rubbers again!!
These rubbers took almost 3 weeks to arrive and they only have 4 pcs of 195/55R15 just for me =)
More details can be found here
Was running on semi slick Toyo R888 195/55R15 previously
More details can be found here
I had these R888s running on my car for 1 month and mileage less than 1000km. Am thinking if I should sell it or keep them for future track usage. Anyway, if you are keen, I am letting go at $600 for all 4. Do not sell separately.
Replace the rubber center rings with these aluminum rings
Something I felt and found out between these 2 tires. Not sure if it's just me.

When I downgrade from my 16" stock rims to the 15" TE37 design rims and wrapped with R888.
It thought I will be able to get a better acceleration as in the car should feel lighter.
But nope, my ride become sluggish and felt heavy when accelerating.
I thought maybe it's just the air pressure is not enough hence I pump to 240kPa for front and 230kPa for rear. Ok, pick up slightly better but still find it a bit sluggish.
But the corner feels great. Even on lowering spring, these tires is very obedient. They really "listen" to you.

So when I got the Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 now. The tyre is definitely lighter than the R888.
With these AD08s, now I feel my car is really running on 15" rims. Acceleration is so much better. No more sluggish feel. Yet to test the corner though, but I believe should be somewhere near to R888 standard.
Side wall is stronger than R888, no more donuts' looking tires.

OK, if you ask me which one I prefer, I would say what meant for track usage is for track and what meant for road usage is really meant for the road. Be practical. Let them be where they should belong. But there are also hardcore drivers out there who treats the road like their track so you guys should buy these R888 from me for your OG night =)

Air filter replacement

The Blitz drop in air filter is used for quite some time.
Replace it will a new RRP drop in filter at a reasonable price.
Won't be expecting any much difference by just changing the air filter.
I am changing it is because the Blitz filter seems to be dirty already and the cotton are getting thinner I suppose.

Throttle body washed and gasket spacer added

Have my throttle body washed and install the thick gasket spacer at the same time.
Read up on the throttle body gasket spacer. Seems very interesting hence give it a try.

It is known to create and store a larger amount of air in the throttle body and maximize air volume going into the Intake Manifold.
Well, do not expect any big difference on this small mod but I do believe every little single mod do contribute a bit of improvement to our NA engine.
It does produce a hissing sound when you depress your gas pedal.
Not sure what caused the sound but it's still not that irritating to me yet.

Thick gasket spacer to add between the throttle body and intake manifold
One problem I discover after driving for 1 day...
Engine check light comes on...Zzz

Gotta visit workshop again on this coming Sat...Darn

Rear camber shim

Since I am removing my the coils again to swap for another coils as mentioned in the previous post, I decided to install the rear camber shim together to save the hassle of removing the coils and doing alignment again.

Rear camber shim
Set the rear to -2 degree
Even with a camber of -2 degree for my rear, my tires are still rubbing against the fender on a rim of offset +35 at the height of 0 finger. Zzz I really need to do something to my rear fenders soon...
Will be posting a picture of my ride with the slam down look after I have my alignment done.

Ohlins DFV giving way for Suzuki Sport Circuit Stroke

Had the Ohlins DFV on my ride for around 1 month before I decided to let it go. It was a very short time though. It served me good enough on street and you can slam the height to make it HellaFlush but this is not what I am looking at. I want hard, stiff, harsh coils for track usage.
Initially I posted in the forum hoping to sell it and go for D2 or APi Racing. But someone I know offered me his Suzuki Sport Circuit Stroke for my Original Gold... O.O
So we arranged a meet up and tested each other suspension. I must say the circuit stroke is impressive and really stun me with the size of the rear spring. I am sure the day to test it on Sepang will come soon...
We managed to clinch a deal and SWAPPED!

The Original Gold making it's way
Front spring rate of 10kg/mm with 4 stage front damping adjustment
Rear spring rate of 8kg/mm with 8 stage rear damping adjustment
Look at the thickness of the spring O.O
Stroke distance -65mm front
Stroke distance -75mm rear
End result, I found that kinda of feeling I want on my ride and I am loving it every moment
Current setting Front click 2 and Rear click 1 =)
